CrossFit Memphis - Head Coach: Mike Bledsoe
CrossFit Memphis was the first CrossFit gym in the Memphis area. As an industry pioneer, Mike Bledsoe has fundamentally changed the way people think about fitness in the Mid-South. CrossFit provides a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. A system of constantly changing functional movements, performed at high intensity provides you with all the tools you need to take on any task in any environment. Your physique is a visual representation of your physical ability; therefore, as a positive side effect, as your performance improves, your physique follows suit.
Goal Specific Training - Head Coach: Doug Larson
Goal Specific Training is similar to traditional personal training, but WITHOUT the $100/hr price tag. Following an initial consultation/needs analysis, all GST clients go through a thorough movement screen to identify movement inefficiencies, strength and mobility deficits/imbalances and any other notable limitations. The combination of the needs analysis and movement screen provides all the details necessary to design a truly customized exercise program. Goal Specific Training clients are instructed on all aspects of their exercise and nutrition programs.
Endurance Training - Head Coach: Rob Conner
Thanks to modern research we've developed a system of low volume, high intensity endurance training that is more effective than the common Long Slow Distance (LSD) training that is used by the majority of the endurance community. By working with our coaches you will increase your endurance potential and overall fitness simultaneously. Alongside our proven endurance training program we will teach you how to run with proper mechanics as to increase speed, efficiency, and reduce injury. Not only will you increase your performance but you'll reduce the amount of time spent training.
Powerlifting - Head Coach: Chris Moore
Powerlifting is the only sport that tests true maximal strength. At Faction S&C, we have a crew of lifters ranging from beginners to the Masters level. Our approach to training is three-tier. First, fitness must be established. You will never reach an elite level if you cannot endure the workouts. All new lifters undergo a preparatory period of training to build strength, establish work capacity, and eliminate weaknesses. A similar conditioning phase is utilized with all team members following competition. Second, lifters are trained across a full spectrum of loads. We want to generate maximum force against every type of resistance. This varied approach yields exceptional strength results. Finally, as competition approaches, special exercises are utilized to maximize performance on the platform. If you are interested in competing in Powerlifting, or just want to maximize muscular strength and power, come meet our team.
Weightlifting – Mike Bledsoe & Doug Larson
Weightlifting is a sport of finesse, speed, strength, power, flexibility, and balance. The competition lifts for the sport are the Snatch, and the Clean & Jerk. Mastering these lifts in themselves is very rewarding, but mastery of the lifts will also transfer into other athletic abilities, allowing you to be faster, stronger, jump higher, and react sooner. There is no alternative to the lifts if you want to maximize the benefits they offer.
